I lost an earing today,
It maybe small to you but it was big to me.
For that little earing held so much; a passage of time, a connection, so much love.
I lost an earing today,
It may be worth pennies to you but to me it was priceless.
For that little earing held a journey; one of interwoven love and pain, forever guilt, forever love.
I lost an earing today,
It may be nothing to you but it was the world to me.
For that little earing held a moment in time; a time so precious, filled with darkness, filled with pure love.
I lost an earing today,
That earing I wore when I brought my sleeping girl into the world. And I have worn it ever since…
For that little earing cannot be replaced; it’s mine, it’s yours, it’s ours.
